The South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
Mission: The mission of South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions Continuing Pharmacy Education program is to provide high quality, evidence-based educational programs for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that meet their personal and professional educational goals and re-licensure requirements. These activities shall be designed to enhance knowledge, skills and competency, specifically addressing potential knowledge gaps and/or performance gaps.
Goals:
- Identify and provide programs to address the identified knowledge and/or performance gap needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians practicing in a variety of settings to enhance competency.
- Identify and provide educational programs specifically designed to support preceptor development.
- Collaborate with South Dakota state pharmacy organizations to provide educational programs.
- Ensure programs are free of commercial bias and are evidence-based.
- Provide programs that support re-licensure for pharmacists and pharmacy
